Hiwaya
The word Hiwaya is Arabic term we use for hobbies. For us at Iqra school, Hiwaya focuses on promoting learning through doing. This can be physical, social or developmental through metacognition.
Hiwaya happens during term 2 – 4 and on a Friday.
Through Hiwaya, teachers are incorporating concepts such as problem solving, resilience, new learning, language development, growth mindset, technological capabilities and chemical reactions.
Currently our year 4 – 8 students are involved in the following Hiwaya activities:
- Digital design
- Cooking
- Table tennis
- Tie Dying
- Art
- Epro8
- Candle-Making
