Dear Parents and Guardians,
Assalamu Alaikum Everyone.
I hope this message finds you well today. I am delighted to be appointed the new Principal of Iqra School starting Term Three. I have already been so welcomed to the school by wonderful staff and students who have gone out of their way to make sure I am well supported here at Iqra School. I have taught over two decades in a number of roles in educational leadership, including ACG Sunderland School and St. Cuthbert’s College. I have a passion for primary education, a commitment to inclusivity and a dedication to fostering a collaborative learning environment. I have gained invaluable experience raising students’ progress and improving outcomes for students. My values align seamlessly with the mission of Iqra School and I am eager to begin work alongside specialised staff, hard working teachers and wonderful students. The Board of Trustees have enabled me to have a wonderful transition with Dr. Stephen Kendall-Jones, and I am grateful for the smooth handover that has transpired.
It is a privilege and humbling to become part of the Iqra School community amongst the special character that only Iqra School can bring. Thank you so much for all the support already shown me. I am excited to start a new chapter here at Iqra School. Your engagement and cooperation are invaluable to me as we continue to cultivate a nurturing, respectful and enriching environment for all our students. Please pop in and say hello when you are next at Iqra School!
Kind regards,
Leanne Chartrand

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The students have been enjoying the Life Education Trust programme this week. The facilitators provide fantastic, interactive health and wellbeing programmes tailored to our tamariki.
As are reminder, on Friday 19 June 2026 schools nationwide in Year 1-5 are invited to dress with a yellow accessory to celebrate Harold, the mascot, and raise funds to support their local Life Education Trust. Please bring a gold coin on Friday.
The children in Year 1-5 wear their Iqra School uniform but may come with a yellow accessory on the day. Examples of accessories might be a yellow: scarf, hat, socks, wristband, hair tie, belt, etc. Please bring a gold coin on the day to raise funds and support Life Education to empower tamariki to make positive choices for their health and wellbeing through the Healthy Harold programme.
Join a nationwide initiative to promote wellbeing education and support Life Education’s work with tamariki and rangatahi in our community. We are excited for engaging lessons helping our students learn about health and wellbeing.

Dear Parents,
Subject: Exciting Campus Expansion and Term 3 Enrolment Update
Dear Iqra School Community,
I am absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news with you all. As our school continues to grow, so does our campus! We have officially integrated the building next door into Iqra School, allowing us to expand our facilities and welcome more students into our wonderful community.
Thanks to this extra space, we are now able to confirm new student enrolments for a Term 3 start in Years 1, 2, and 3.
As we navigate this exciting growth, please keep the following important details in mind regarding the enrolment process:
Enrolment Policy & Priority: The school will strictly follow our standard enrolment policy. Priority will be given to siblings of current students.
Notification: Families of children being offered a placement for Term 3 will be contacted directly via telephone or email in the coming days.
Interview & Confirmation: If you receive an offer, we kindly ask that you promptly confirm your interview time.
Attendance Dues: To secure the position, families must be prepared to pay the remaining full attendance dues for the 2026 school year, which total $500 (covering Terms 3 and 4).
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our proprietors and our amazing community. This expansion is a huge milestone for us, and we are looking forward to growing the Iqra School family and welcoming our new students and their families very soon.
Warm regards,
Leanne Chartrand
