Assalamu Alaikum Everyone,
I hope this message finds you well today.
Reflecting on the past two years as Principal of Iqra School, I am filled with immense gratitude for how warm, welcoming, and dedicated this community continues to be. Since joining in Term Three two years ago, following a wonderful transition alongside Dr. Stephen Kendall-Jones, it has been an absolute privilege to lead and grow alongside our incredible students, hard-working teachers, specialized staff, and supportive Board of Trustees.
Drawing on my two decades of experience in educational leadership—including my time at ACG Sunderland School and St. Cuthbert’s College—my passion for primary education, commitment to inclusivity, and dedication to raising student progress remain at the heart of everything I do. Over these past two years, it has been immensely rewarding to see our shared values in action and to watch our students thrive within the unique special character that makes Iqra School so extraordinary.
Thank you to all our parents, caregivers, and community members for your ongoing support, engagement, and collaboration. Together, we continue to cultivate a nurturing, respectful, and enriching environment where every student can succeed.

Assalamu Alaikum and Kia Ora Koutou, IQRA School formerly known as IQRA Elementary is a state-integrated area school catering to students from year 1 to year 8. IQRA was established in 2016 by our proprietors Algoritmi Educational Trust.
We are focused on providing quality education by developing our own IQRA special character curriculum. The IQRA special character curriculum is made up of Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic Language intertwined through the New Zealand Curriculum and the learning context. We also have formal Quran and Arabic language lessons.
We look forward to working with all of you on the journey to making our school a leading Islamic School in New Zealand that ensures our students stay connected with our faith, languages, cultures and strong heritage.

Salam and Kia ora Parents and Whānau,
We are currently looking for someone who may be able to help coach our students in football during Term 4, until the second week of November.
The sessions would be held on Fridays 3.45 p.m - 4.45 p.m. We are looking for someone with football experience who would enjoy working with our students.
If you, or someone you know, may be interested in helping, please contact the school office or get in touch with us.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I am writing to send a few quick reminders about our class activities scheduled for tomorrow!
Uniform-Free Day: Tomorrow is a non-uniform day, so students do not need to wear their school uniform. Please ensure their outfit is comfortable and practical for school activities.
Shared Lunch: We will be having a class shared lunch tomorrow. We kindly ask that students bring a healthy food item aswell to share with the class (e.g., sliced fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, or light whole-food snacks).
Allergies & Dietary Restrictions: Student safety is our top priority. If your child has any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or if you have any concerns regarding your child participating in the shared lunch, please send me a quick reply to let me know.

Assalamu Alaikum Parents and Staff,
Algoritmi Educational Trust is pleased to offer a FREE Holiday Activities Programme for Ex-IQRA students during the upcoming school holidays.
The programme is an opportunity for students to reconnect, have fun and grow together, with activities including sports and team games, arts and crafts, Islamic activities, talent shows, free play and an outdoor day trip.
Boys: Monday 28 & Tuesday 29 September
Girls: Wednesday 30 September & Thursday 1 October
Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm each day
Day 1 Venue: IQRA School Building, New Lynn
Day 2 Venue: To be confirmed
Cost: FREE – sponsored by Algoritmi Educational Trust
Lunch & snacks: Provided each day
Places are limited to approximately 35 students per group, so early registration is recommended.
For Participants: Please scan the Participants QR code on the attached poster to complete the Enrolment Form and view the Code of Conduct.
Staff & Volunteers Needed
Iqra School staff and others who are interested in supporting the programme as a supervisor or volunteer are warmly invited to participate.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are pleased to let you know that Friday 25 September will be a Free Uniform Day at Iqra School.
Students are welcome to wear their own clothes on this day instead of the school uniform. We kindly ask that clothing is modest, appropriate, and upholds the Islamic values taught at school.
As part of the day, we will also be collecting a gold coin donation from students to support our fundraising efforts.
